IT Laboratory

Workplace with powerful computer equipment for two kinds of goals:
  • Mathematical modelling of the environmental phenomena and processes.
  • Support of other laboratories in data collection, storage and analysis, support of other laboratories in scientific results’ presentation.
 

Research activities

The scientific research focused on the mathematical modelling of the environmental phenomena and processes:
  • The pollutant transport and dispersion in the environment.
  • Environmental disorder causes analyses.
  • Technical, administrative or other arrangements effects design and analyses.

The spatial distribution of PM10 particles

 

The pollutant transport and dispersion modelling primarily focused on the air pollution dispersion and noise modelling. It is possible to utilize several models and techniques. Analyses are provided as spatial analyses in the GIS software. Analyses utilize the synergy of mathematical modelling and GIS for data preparation, processing, analyses and visualization.


Basic equipment

There is a powerful server for modelling and computations in the IT laboratory. There are all-university facilities which are used for the most complex calculations. Those are the IT center of the VŠB-TUO and IT4INNOVATIONS project’s parallel supercomputer cluster. The IT laboratory is equipped for visualization and presentation of scientific results. There are maps, graphs and schemes created including up to A1 format print.
